Teens Wanted For "9 to 5" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Seeking teens for "9 to 5" play. See the details below. About the project: 9 to 5, with music and lyrics by the legendary Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 hit movie with the same name. Violet (the Lily Tomlin character), Judy (the Jane Fonda character) and Doralee (the Dolly Parton character) are three coworkers working ... 9 to 5 ... in the late 1970s who concoct a plan to get even with their sexist, egotistical boss, Franklin Hart. While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Additional info: Please prepare 16-32 bars of a country, pop/rock or contemporary musical theatre selection (nothing from 9 to 5 itself). An accompanist will be provided; please bring your sheet music in the correct key. Each time slot will consist of a singing audition and a brief group dance call; please dress accordingly. Rehearsals begin on Feb. 7, 2027, and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as Sundays (mostly afternoons from noon to 5, with the last two Sunday February rehearsals from 4:30 to 9 p.m.) Not everyone will be called to all rehearsals. However, ALL ACTORS MUST be present for all MANDATORY TECH REHEARSALS (April 3-9) and all performances (April 10, 11, 17 and 18). (Note: Tech Week begins on a Saturday (April 3); all performances are on weekend days, with two shows on Saturday, April 17.) If you are interested, please apply.
