Casting Call - Child Actors | DFW Area
Help us find "The Judson Boys" and their friends! We are casting for two lead roles + 5 to 7 Supporting Roles, -- boys and girls -- for The Judson Boys, an independent narrative short film with planned festival distribution, shooting in the Dallas–Fort Worth area in September. We need boys and girls in the 10-12 age range, or actors who can play in that range. Experienced actors AND first-timers are encouraged to apply for any role — including the two leads. All performers must be able to work as a DFW local hire. Travel and lodging are not provided. Small stipends will be paid to all Lead and Supporting roles. A parent or legal guardian must accompany performers under 18 while on set. The film is a character-driven story about friendship, loyalty, and growing up under difficult circumstances. While the story has some emotional weight, it also has plenty of humor and heart. Please read our submission instructions attached for complete instructions.

Carter is resourceful, funny and has a natural charisma that draws people in. He carries more responsibility than a kid his age should and uses his quick wit and confidence to navigate a difficult home life. We're looking for someone who can naturally capture Carter's humor, confidence and vulnerability.
Jack is thoughtful, intelligent and a bit of an outsider. He's observant and curious, and often thinks before he speaks. Quieter than Carter, Jack nevertheless has a quiet confidence of his own. We're looking for someone who feels natural and authentic and can bring Jack's quieter personality to life.
We are casting 5-7 supporting roles for boys and/or girls. These are smaller speaking and featured roles, with most performers expected to be needed for approximately 2 shoot days. Experienced young actors and first-timers are equally encouraged to apply.
