The Story of Maya start when Maya and her brother Bailey Jr left to go live with their grandmother Annie Henderson. As time went on in Stamp, Arkansas, their father came and got them to live with him yet he took them to their mother home to live. Maya had gotten raped by her mother's boyfriend, Mr. Freeman. Maya would not talk for years. Her mother Vivian, sent her back to live with Ms. Annie Henderson in Arkansas.
