When no earthly cause can be found, the girls rock the village with accusations of witchcraft against their neighbors. Additional info: Callbacks August 28 at 7 p.m. Please prepare a 1-minute classical monologue. Rehearsal Times: Tues/Thurs/Fri 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Performance Dates: Oct 31, Nov 1, 7, 8 at 7 P.M. Reverend Parris’s niece. Abigail was once the servant for the Proctor household, but Elizabeth Proctor fired her after she discovered that Abigail was having an affair with her husband, John Proctor. Abigail is smart, wily, a good liar, and vindictive when crossed.
The servant in the Proctor household and a member of Abigail’s group of girls. She is a timid girl, easily influenced by those around her, who tried unsuccessfully to expose the hoax and ultimately recanted her confession
Reverend Parris’s daughter. Betty falls into a strange stupor after Parris catches her and the other girls dancing in the forest with Tituba. Her illness and that of Ruth Putnam fuel the first rumors of witchcraft
Susanna is a nervous and hasty girl, younger than Abigail. She works for Dr. Griggs. She participates in the ritual in the woods with Tituba and is one of the girls in Abigail’s group.
Servant to the Putnams, Mercy is a “sly, merciless girl of eighteen.” She proves to be Abigail’s closest friend, sticking by her through the end and fleeing Salem with Abigail during the trials.
