Teen auditions for the musical production Something Rotten. See details below. About the project: Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz. Additional info: Please prepare 30 seconds to 1 minute of a Broadway-style song. Singing from the show is acceptable. An accompanist and a speaker for tracks will be provided. Cold reading from the script. And be prepared to dance. Those auditioning for Nick Bottom, Shakespeare or wanting to be a featured Tap dancer will also have a small Tap audition. Everyone auditioning for Something Rotten will be expected to participate in all three parts. Please wear closed toed, comfortable shoes and clothes you can move in. And have fun! No experience necessary auditions are open to anyone and everyone. Show dates are April 18,19,20,24,25,26,27. If you are interested please apply.

Nick’s younger brother. A sweetly naive young writer and poet, perhaps a little awkward. Sweet and a little awkward. He falls in love with Portia and ultimately finds confidence in himself through art and love. Great comedic actor who sings very well.

A Renaissance rock star. Think Mick Jagger. Great comedic actor with a killer pop/rock voice. Tap dance skills are a plus.
