Seeking Kids for "Singin' in the Rain"
Seeking age 16 and up for "Singin’ in the Rain". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Singin’ in the Rain is a joyful, toe-tapping musical set in the glamorous world of 1920s Hollywood, during the transition from silent films to "talkies." The story follows the dashing Don Lockwood, a silent film star, and his on-screen partner Lina Lamont, who has a less-than-perfect voice for the new era of sound films. As the studio scrambles to adapt, Don meets and falls for the charming Kathy Selden, a talented young actress who becomes the secret voice behind Lina's character. With iconic songs like "Good Morning," "Make ‘Em Laugh," and, of course, "Singin’ in the Rain," this musical is a delightful celebration of romance, comedy, and the golden age of Hollywood. Additional info: DANCE AUDITIONS: Dance auditions will consist of a choreographed number. You can prep for the dance portion ahead of time with the video link attached. SINGING AND MONOLOGUE AUDITIONS: For the singing portion of day two, directors ask that you prepare 16-32 bars of a song in the style of “Singin’ in the Rain” or from the show itself.
