Seeking Teens for Dance Tryouts in "Bright Star" Show
Talent ages 14 and up are welcome to audition for the "Bright Star" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Inspired by true events and featuring a stunning bluegrass score by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Bright Star is a sweeping tale of love, loss, and redemption. Set in the American South of the 1920s and 1940s, the story follows Alice Murphy, a literary editor whose life takes an unexpected turn when she meets a young soldier just home from World War II. As Alice revisits her past, long-buried secrets come to light, leading to a life-changing revelation. Additional info: What to Prepare: -16 measures of a period-appropriate show tune – Bring your own sheet music (Accompanist provided, no a cappella auditions) A style-appropriate audition piece in an Appalachian, country, or bluegrass style. No more than 16 measures of music - choose the best part of your piece to highlight your vocals. Your selection does not need to be from a musical; have fun picking out a style-appropriate piece. -Cold script reading. -Be ready to learn a dance combination.
