Kid Actors Needed for "Seussical" Musical

Child performers are invited to audition for "Seussical" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant. Additional info: Please come with a one-minute song selection prepared. Please bring sheet music as an accompanist will be available. A capella auditions are not recommended. Directors will provide materials for a short scene read will be provided at your audition. There will be a brief dance component to your audition, so please dress comfortably. Rehearsals will begin June 16th and will be held generally from 6:30-9 pm on Monday-Friday nights at EHHS. Not everyone will be called to the entirety of every rehearsal. Performances will be July 25 & 26 at 7:30 pm and 27th at 2 pm at EHHS!
