About the project: Black Women Walking is an acclaimed and mesmerizing theatrical performance that blends monologues, movement, music, and multimedia to vividly portray the stories of brave Black heroines who reshaped American history. Showcasing an all-female cast, this powerful production is filled with emotional intensity, demonstrating that the true strength of women is recognized and celebrated in the present by reflecting on and honoring the past. Rate: Weekly stipend + Lodging + Ground transportation. Additional info: Rehearsals begin: February 2025 (dates/location = TBD) - Zoom and in-person Run: March 1-2, 2025 -Cedar Rapids, IA, and February 28, 2025 - Des Moines, IA Callback (via Zoom) will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 1-4p (CST) Actors should prepare a 2-minute dramatic monologue. If you’re auditioning for a singing (choir) role, then prepare 32 bars of an up-tempo song (with movement) and 32 bars of a ballad. Performers must provide their accompaniment.
