Casting Teenagers for "Pride & Prejudice" Play
Audition for "Pride & Prejudice" Play. Auditions are open to actors aged 16+. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Registration will begin at 6 pm. Auditions will begin at 6:30 pm. Please choose only one audition date to attend. A callback list will be posted on social media at 12 PM on Wednesday, December 11. A cast list will be posted on social media at 5 PM on Friday, December 13, and those who auditioned will receive an email before the cast list is made public. Auditions will consist of improv, games, and cold readings from the script. In addition, each actor will be asked to perform a monologue (see the list of characters and monologues below). Memorization is not required. See the document attached for details. If interested, please apply.

The eldest and most beautiful Bennet daughter. Kind, idealistic, diffident. Always tries to do the right thing. May be doubled with MISS DE BOURGH.
A year or two younger than Jane. Clever, spirited; can be sharp-tongued. Gets flustered, which makes her klutzy. Prides herself on good judgment. Not especially beautiful.
The youngest Bennet. Lively, prone to imitating others’ behavior and eavesdropping. May be doubled with Lady C.
A practical girl with a good sense of humor. May be doubled with Mr. Bennet.
Patrician Caesar-meets-drill sergeant. May double with Lydia.
Lady Catherine’s daughter; a gremlin. May double with Jane.
One of the richest men in England. Too proper for his own good; awkward in most social contexts. Prides himself on self- control and good judgment.

The matriarch of the Bennet family. Mostly a silly woman, of mean understanding and variable temper. Hypochondriac. The business of her life is to get her daughters married.
The patriarch of the Bennet family. Finds amusement in absurdity; often looks for respectable escape from the chaos of his family life. Disappointed in marriage. May double with Charlotte.
The third Bennet girl. Bit of a monster; prone to pedanticism and sulking. May double with Bingley. A dark goth Bronte character trapped in an Austen world.
A very rich young woman. Fancies herself witty. It may be doubled with Wickham/ Collins.
