Kid Actors Needed for "Peter Pan" Show Auditions
Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 16 are encouraged to audition for the "Peter Pan" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This superb adaptation captures all the magic and charm of everyone’s favorite story. The Darling children love to hear of Peter Pan’s adventures during his visits through the open window of the nursery. Then one night after Nana has taken his shadow and Wendy has sewn it back on, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell whisk the children off to Neverland to be part of the adventures. Wendy, John, and Michael become friends with the Lost Boys and Princess Tiger Lily, and Wendy becomes everyone’s mother. When the evil Captain Hook captures Wendy and the Lost Boys, Peter Pan comes to their rescue. Together with the ticking crocodile, Peter Pan puts Captain Hook in his place and returns the Darling children to their home. Additional info: Please dress appropriately and expect to have your photo taken after you have signed in. Please do not bring props to the audition. Also, the casting committee requests that you do not wear costumes or face paint. All actors are required to audition with a self-selected 1-to-2-minute monologue. Younger actors may choose monologues from a nursery rhyme or a play/movie, older actors should choose an age-appropriate monologue from a play or movie. Rehearsals: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays The first rehearsal is Tuesday, August 6th – Mandatory attendance by all cast/crew and parent/guardian is required and non-negotiable. Generally, weekday rehearsals will be from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Saturday rehearsal times vary – please check the schedule. An in-depth rehearsal schedule is provided at the first rehearsal. Additional rehearsals may be called if needed. Rehearsals may be limited to small groups with various arrival and dismissal times. Rehearsal attendance is crucial, but no absences are allowed unless disclosed in registration form conflicts. The inability to attend rehearsals affects casting eligibility. Volunteer Expectations: Actors and family participation is a natural part of the community theatre experience. Directors expect each family to contribute approximately 20 hours to the production prior to performances (set building, work inside the theatre, show promotion, etc.) plus working before, during, or after most performances. Volunteer positions will be reviewed at the first rehearsal.
