About the project: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is an adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Barbara Robinson, published in 1972. In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdmans kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide head-on with the story of Christmas! This is not a musical, but it is a play with music. That means that no singing auditions will be held. The music included will be bits of Christmas carols we often hear around the holiday season, learned from online sources. Additional info: REHEARSAL PERIOD Sunday thru Wednesday evenings; November 1st - November 25th All cast members MAY NOT be called for every rehearsal, but those who are called must attend. There are only 4 weeks before tech/performance week. TECH WEEK/DRESS REHEARSALS November 30 - December 2 Crew integration, cue-to-cue, tech rehearsals. Required attendance. PERFORMANCES Thursday, December 3rd, Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th (See times on the rehearsal calendar) NOTE: Actors must be able to commit to all performance dates & tech/dress rehearsals.
