The central character of the series. He is a sad, clumsy Wemmick who is often covered in gray dots from the judgments of others. His journey centers on learning his true self-worth.
A wise, free-spirited Wemmick who has neither stars nor dots. She remains unbothered by the judgment of other villagers because she knows she is special just the way she is.
Woody is one of Punchinello's close friends. The three friends get caught up in a village-wide trend of painting their noses green in an attempt to fit in, only to realize the trends constantly change and ultimately mean nothing
Woody gets swept up in a town trend and paints his nose green just to fit in with the other Wemmicks. He ultimately tires of the superficial fads and, with the help of the woodcarver Eli, returns to his original, wonderfully crafted wooden self
Willy Withit is a trendy, fast-talking Wemmick who rolls into Wemmicksville to introduce pointless but popular trends. He represents peer pressure and the desire to blindly follow the crowd. Willy convinces the wooden citizens that painting their noses green is the ultimate mark of being "cool". Willy embodies the temptation to change your appearance or behavior just to fit in with the crowd.
A little, spoiled Wemmick who wants her own way all the time.
She acts as a close friend to the main character, Punchinello. She plays a key part in the story's lesson on peer pressure and self-acceptance by casually suggesting to Punchinello that he would look "cute" with a green nose. Her innocent remark sparks his desire to join the trend, ultimately teaching the town that changing yourself to fit in is like chasing the win.
Bess Stovall comes to choose the best to be members of the Wonderful Wemmicks Club. She enters town with great pomp and circumstance and carefully investigates each citizen. This one is too short and this one has a nose that's too large. When she sees Lucia, she's immediately excited. They're both made of maple and even come from the same forest. That means they must be from "the same ances-tree!"
Nip is a little wooden villager who (along with his friend Tuck) starts a competitive town craze to collect the most boxes and balls. He and Tuck show off their shiny new boxes, causing the main character, Punchinello, to become obsessed with material possessions. Nip's character represents the human temptation to seek status and worth through "keeping up with the crowd" rather than focusing on personal identity.
