About the project: Two years after losing her husband, a worship leader is asked to sing again on Christmas Eve. When she finally stops running and gives her grief to God, she discovers the song her husband left unfinished has been in their daughter's hands all along. It's a Christmas drama with real humor, and the whole story belongs to a mother and her two daughters. Rate: Non-union, paid, and local hire preferred! LEAD The eldest daughter. She's the one who's been playing pseudo-parent to her little sister ever since their dad passed, and she is so done pretending it's fine. She isn't shy… she's just quiet, observant, and usually a step ahead of everyone else in the room. Dryly funny when she wants to be. She carries our heaviest dramatic scene in the film and has actually to play guitar on camera. MUST PLAY GUITAR AND SING.
Riley is the youngest. She runs an ornament business on livestreams and drives a hard bargain like a lawyer. She's the only one vocal about wanting Christmas this year. She keeps saying her dad's name out loud, while everyone else walks on eggshells, and she doesn't realize how tough that actually is. Looking for a naturally funny actress who doesn't feel like a sitcom character.
All nerves and zero cool, right up until one sudden moment of unexpected steadiness. Picture a kid who spent the entire drive over-rehearsing his lines in the car and then immediately forgot every single word. Lots of physical comedy potential. Think Tom Holland's Peter Parker energy.
(Alex's best friend) Blunt, funny, protective. The one person who notices Alex hasn't had a normal problem in two years.
