"Hadestown: Teen Edition" Needs Boys and Girls

Teens in grades 9-12 are invited to audition for "Hadestown: Teen Edition". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Additional info: You will be asked to come prepared with a 32-bar cut (30 seconds) of a musical theatre piece in the Hadestown genre (can't be from the show). You will be singing to a track. You should be memorized, have character choices, and blocking. Directors will ask you to start with a slate (name, grade, and the titles of your piece). It is important that you arrive early and be prepared for your audition time. Please come dressed appropriately. Callbacks for the musical will be August 20th-21st from 3:15-5:15. If signing up for an audition, please understand that you may or may not be asked to come to callbacks. The list of students will be emailed, posted in the Timberview Band, and shared on socials the evening of August 19th.
