Teens Needed for "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors" Play

Performers ages 17 and up are invited to audition for "Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors" Play. Please see the details below. About the project: Ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and The 39 Steps? That’s just what happens in this lightning-fast, laugh-out-loud, 90-minute romp. When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous and sexy Count Dracula abounds with clever wordplay and quick-change antics. Five actors play over a dozen roles in this bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up of the literary classic. Additional info: Directors will be doing cold reads of the following sides, pulling actors at random to portray different parts. Please note, directors might ask you to read for a character/actor even if it’s not one of your preferred roles, just to get an idea of your range. While you do not necessarily need to come to both nights of auditions, coming to both nights allows you to read with multiple people to confirm chemistry. As you prepare to audition, please keep this in mind: while this show is a farce, and it needs to move fast, the comedy only works if it's played honestly. Don't play the joke. Be in the moment.
