Angel possesses an incredible spirit and a gift for inspiring human connection, all while being a street fashion icon. Angel is magnetic and lives for the moment. They quickly meet and become Tom Collins’ partner, a connection that brings Angel into the chosen family group. Their artistry is similar to that of Prince, young RuPaul, and Grace Jones. A proud Afro-Latinx dancer who lives in the moment. She struggles with drug addiction and lives with HIV. As a young woman on a journey to discover herself and her purpose, her addiction and her goals often conflict. She eagerly tries to make the best of life in any way she can. Living in the same building as Roger and Mark, Mimi meets their friend group through an unexpected romantic connection to Roger, which forever changes her through this chosen family. A performance artist who is always angry and ready to fight. She is full of good intentions and rebellious energy, which she channels into her art, regardless of the medium. Maureen is a former roommate of Roger, Mark, Collins, and Benny. She completes her chosen family, filling the space with intoxicating energy saturated with sexual vitality.
