"The Sound Of Music" Show Seeks Kids and Teens
Looking to cast kids and teens for "The Sound of Music" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Vocal Audition: Prepare a one-minute cut of a song from a Classical Broadway musical in the style of The Sound of Music. Please, select a cut that shows a wide vocal range and strong storytelling ability. Please, provide your own sheet music that is clearly marked for the accompanist. No Acapella auditions will be heard. Dance Audition: Please wear form-fitting dance attire- Character heels, ballet slippers, jazz shoes are permitted. Baggy and loose-fitting clothing is not recommended. The Sound of Music has a ballet sequence involving Leisle and Rolf; a basic knowledge and understanding of Ballet is encouraged for those characters. All those auditioning for The Sound of Music must attend the dance audition. Callbacks: Be prepared to read sides from the libretto. Those invited to callbacks will be asked to sing selections from The Sound of Music Score. REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Sunday August 9th- Wednesday October 7th Sundays: 1:00 pm-5:00 pm Mondays: 7:00 pm-10:00 pm (Youth Actors will be dismissed by 9:00 pm) Wednesdays: 7:00 pm-10:00 pm (Youth Actors will be dismissed by 9:00 pm) TECH WEEK October 10th-15th (All Actors must be available for Tech Week) PERFORMANCES October 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, and November 1st. Youth Actors playing the von Trapp children will be double-cast and split into performances. Youth Actors playing the von Trapp children will serve as understudies for the opposite cast.
