"Peter and the Starcatcher" Show Needs Boys and Girls
Seeking talent ages 16 and up for the "Peter and the Starcatcher" Show. Please see the details below. About the project: Peter and the Starcatcher, the award-winning and wildly imaginative prequel to Peter Pan. Peter and the Starcatcher tells the origin story of the boy who would become Peter Pan. The adventure begins as three orphan boys leave St. Norbert’s Orphanage for Lost Boys aboard the ship Neverland while Molly Aster, a bright and determined apprentice Starcatcher, sails on a parallel journey to the distant kingdom of Rundoon. When trunks containing magical starstuff are accidentally switched, the paths of orphans, sailors, Starcatchers, and pirates collide. Along the way, audiences encounter hurricanes, mermaids, shipwrecks, crocodiles, and the larger-than-life pirate Black Stache, whose ongoing battle with a nameless orphan boy ultimately lays the foundation for one of literature’s most beloved rivalries. Told through an inventive story-theatre style, the production relies on a talented ensemble to transform simple theatrical elements into ships, jungles, oceans, islands, and magical worlds. The result is a heartwarming and hysterically funny adventure celebrating friendship, courage, imagination, and the discovery of one’s true identity. Additional info: Those auditioning should come prepared to sing a 32-bar cut of a favorite song, either from musical theatre or another genre, and present a 90-second monologue. A 45-second comedic monologue and a 45-second monologue utilizing iambic pentameter are strongly encouraged. While Peter and the Starcatcher is technically a play, music plays an important role in enhancing the storytelling, including several opportunities for beautiful vocal harmonies. Timing, pacing, and strong ensemble work are essential to the success of this production. If interested, please apply.
