"The SpongeBob Musical" Youth Edition Needs Kids
Seeking kids ages 8-16 years old for "The SpongeBob Musical" Youth Edition. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world! Additional info: Monologues: Please prepare and memorize a self-selected, 1-minute monologue of your choosing in the style of the show Vocals: Please memorize the cut of one song of your choosing for the audition (see the attachment) If you have special skills such as pirouettes, flips, leaps, or other fun dance moves, be prepared to demonstrate them after your vocal audition. Choreography: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for movement and dancing, as you’ll be learning a short choreography combination during the audition. Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays Attendance by all the cast and crew at the first rehearsal is required and nonnegotiable. Generally, weekday rehearsals will be from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Rehearsal extends to 10:00 pm in June. An in-depth rehearsal schedule is provided at the first rehearsal. Additional rehearsals may be called, if needed. Rehearsals may be limited to small groups with various arrival and dismissal times. Rehearsal attendance is crucial, but no absences are allowed unless conflicts are disclosed on the registration form. Inability to attend rehearsals affects casting eligibility. Family participation is a natural part of the community theatre experience. Directors expect each family to contribute approximately 20 hours to the production prior to performances (set building, work inside the theatre, show promotion, etc.), plus working before, during, or after most performances. Volunteer positions will be reviewed at the first rehearsal.
