On the morning of her wedding, a young woman's tense reunion with her mother triggers a repressed memory of a childhood accident that left her scarred—but when she demands to know if it was an accident or an attempt on her life, their raw confrontation forces them to untangle a lifetime of suffocating love, sacrificed dreams, and the terrifying possibility that the truth might be more damaging than the lie.
