About the project: Now that Gentlemen Prefer Blondes has closed, it's time for the next show! 1776 is a Tony-winning musical (1969) that dramatizes the Second Continental Congress's struggle to declare independence from Britain, focusing on John Adams's efforts to persuade fellow delegates. Featuring music by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone, it portrays Adams, Franklin, and Jefferson drafting the Declaration of Independence. Additional info: Call backs will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 7 pm. Please come prepared with 32 bars of a musical theatre piece in classic Broadway style. Please bring a recording of your audition piece to play at the audition. Cast Size: Medium (11 to 20 performers; flexible). There will be cold reads of a few excerpts from the production.
