EVAN HANSENMale17-18 y.o.All ethnicities

High school teenager Vocal Range: Pop Tenor (G2-C5) A high school senior with social anxiety. Smart, sincere, and excruciatingly self-conscious, Evan prefers to hover in the background, a supporting player in his own life, too afraid to step forward into the spotlight and risk ridicule or, what might be worse, no one noticing him at all. He is assigned by his therapist to write letters to himself about why each day will be good, which becomes the catalyst for the plot of the story.

CONNOR MURPHYMale17-18 y.o.All ethnicities

High school teenager Vocal Range: Pop Baritone/Tenor (C3-G#4) An angry, isolated young man who feels like an outsider among his peers, Connor has been struggling for as long as anyone can remember, often misunderstood and a source of deep concern for his parents. A classmate of Evan’s and a high school senior who, like Evan, has difficulty connecting with others, Connor eventually takes his own life during Act 1. His ghost appears in Evan's mind throughout the rest of the musical.

JARED KLEINMANMale17-18 y.o.All ethnicities

High school teenager Vocal Range: Pop tenor (D3-B4) Evan’s sarcastic and quick-witted friend who masks his own insecurities with humor and a bit of bravado. A little nerdy and a little awkward, he helps Evan and Alana found The Connor Project.

ALANA BECKFemale17-18 y.o.All ethnicities

High school teenager Vocal Range: Pop soprano (F3-E5, bottom F to E2 above middle C) Evan’s earnest and driven classmate. She is constantly seeking out academic and extracurricular opportunities to strengthen her college applications. Ambitious and deeply invested in everything she does, Alana hides a loneliness beneath an ever-present smile and friendliness.
