Mixed Japanese. Miles is the product of his environment. Growing up without a father meant growing up fast, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the same struggles as any other teenager. Miles loves to be active, explore and learn, especially when it comes to baseball. He is always the first person to show up and the last to leave because being alone means sitting with himself. LEAD ($100/day)
Japanese. Takeo is a first generation immigrant to Canada having moved from Japan 3 years before the War. Takeo loved baseball and dreamed of going pro. When he was interned Takeo would play baseball as an escape from the world, so when he notices Kiyoshi showing interest in his favourite sport he decides to take him under his wing. Takeo is loyal, showing love through honesty and kindness rather than false niceties. SMALL SUPPORTING. REAL BASEBALL EXPERIENCE AN ASSET ($50/day)
Japanese. Kiyoshi was only a child during the Second World War and his time in internment shifted his life forever. He loves baseball and looks up to all the players at Tashme. In spite of his incarceration, he still dreams of becoming a pro player. SMALL SUPPORTING ($50/day)
Additional information. This teenage catcher receives each pitch cleanly and taunts Miles quietly, trying to get in his head. Confident and slightly cocky, but stays locked into the play. 1 line, 1 scene. REAL BASEBALL EXPERIENCE AN ASSET. ($50/day)
