NYU Thesis Film Casting Call:" Oasis"
ONLY APPLY IF LOCAL TO LA OR SURROUNDING AREAS. Casting child actors for my thesis short film, Oasis! Child actors will be playing the younger parts of the titular characters. Synopsis: As a federal militia sweeps through the immigrants in the desert town of Oasis, CA, a young couple’s refuge shatters when a former childhood friend—now radicalized—arrives at their door, forcing a harrowing choice between vengeance and mercy.

9 to 12 years old; Hispanic, Mixed Ethnicity, West Indies/Caribbean; boy. Shy, observant, and gentle, Young Leo is initially reserved but deeply empathetic. As he bonds with Young Lucia and Young Marco, he begins to come out of his shell, revealing a warmth and emotional sensitivity that define his core. His early experiences with fear and displacement quietly shape the man he will become. A Guardian will be allowed within sight and sound of the Minor at all times while they are working.
9 to 12 years old; Hispanic, West Indies/Caribbean, White; boy. Energetic, charismatic, and slightly possessive, Young Marco is a natural leader within the group. He craves attention and validation, especially from Lucia, masking early insecurities beneath confidence and humor. Hints of jealousy and entitlement foreshadow the resentment that will later define him. Has multiple lines, MUST KNOW HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH.
9 to 12 years old; Hispanic, Mixed Ethnicity, West Indies/Caribbean; girl. Playful, warm, and spirited, Young Lucia is full of life and natural confidence. She forms deep emotional connections with both Leo and Marco, acting as the heart of their friendship. Her innocence and openness highlight the purity of their bond before it is fractured by the world around them. A Parent or Guardian will be allowed within sight and sound of the Minor at all times while they are working.
