Casting "Scent of Saffron," a feature film. Synopsis: An Iranian-Canadian pianist, Shirin, in her late twenties, as she reminisces about the first four seasons after she and her parents immigrated from Tehran to Toronto in 2010. Binding pre-Revolutionary Persian music with wholesome vignettes, Scent of Saffron follows Shirin as she navigates childhood in Toronto, observing her parents’ struggles in finding work and maintaining their relationship after migrating, and her budding interaction with an elderly Armenian-Iranian antique shopkeeper who befriends her.

Shirin is only 10 years old when her parents bring her from Tehran to Toronto in 2010. The film is seen through her innocent eyes for most of the childhood scenes. She sees the peculiar, intimate relationship of her parents, Ali and Nasreen, seen through their daughter’s gaze. She is a cute, innocent, and smart girl with cute brown hair and big, bright eyes, growing up in a huge city with no complaints, and hanging out with a humble old antique shop clerk named Mr. Derderian, who befriends her.
