About the project: LOGLINE: Reflections of an Iranian-Canadian pianist, Shirin (late-20s) as she reminisces about the first four seasons after she and her parents immigrated from Tehran to Toronto in 2010. Binding pre-Revolutionary Persian music with wholesome vignettes, Scent of Saffron follows Shirin as she navigates childhood in Toronto, observing her parents’ struggles in finding work and maintaining their relationship after migrating, and her budding interaction with an elderly Armenian antique shopkeeper who befriends her. Rate: Vary between $500-$3000 (flat rate) depending on role. Additional information: An Iranian diaspora coming-of-age drama. Genre: drama/coming of age. Location: Toronto/GTA, ON.
