ONLY LOCAL TALENT WIL BE ADMITTED. Currently developing a 7-10 minute short documentary to be filmed in the GTA in Summer 2026, and directors are looking for children ages 6+ and families who would like to participate. See the details below. About the project: This documentary explores the experiences of immigrant children finding their balance between their cultures through what they bring to lunch at school. A quintessential part of an immigrant child's experience, where they bring their culture outside of their home for the first time, through their lunchbox. Where a simple lunch box can hold entire worlds of culture, love and pride. Rate: Food and transportation will be provided and subjects will receive an honorarium. Additional information: Directors want to follow participants as they go about their daily routines (school, home, lunch time) and hear their stories around food, identity, and belonging. Parents or caregivers (or whoever prepares the child’s lunch) will also be involved in the documentary. Filming will be minimal, respectful, and collaborative. If you're interested, please apply.
