"Hadestown: Teen Edition" Needs Teens

Talent ages 13-18 years old are welcome to audition for "Hadestown: Teen Edition". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Hadestown: Teen Edition is a haunting and hopeful folk opera that reimagines ancient Greek myths through the lens of modern storytelling. Following the intertwined love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone, the musical journeys from the world above to the depths of the underworld and back again. Inspired by American folk music and New Orleans jazz, Hadestown explores love, doubt, sacrifice, and the power of storytelling in the face of fear. Additional info: Prepare 16 bars (approximately 60-90 seconds) of a contemporary musical theatre or folk/pop song. The song should be in the style of the show, preferably not from Hadestown. Bring a karaoke or instrumental track on your device. A Bluetooth speaker will be provided. Auditioners should also: -Be prepared to take direction -Answer a few questions with the creative team -Resumes encouraged, especially for first-time or newer auditioners. Indicate any special movement skills (dance, tumbling, cartwheels, flips, etc.) Rehearsals: Wednesday, 1/21 - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Read-Through and Parent Meeting. Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 25. Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sundays from 12 pm to 4 pm or 5 pm to 9 pm Cast Members may not be needed at all rehearsals. A schedule will be finalized once casting and conflicts are received. Performance Dates: Fridays, April 24 & May 1 at 7:30 pm Saturdays, April 25 & May 2 at 7:30 pm Sundays, April 26 & May 3 at 2 pm Thursday, April 30 at 10 am - School Performance No conflicts during tech rehearsals. 4/18 to 4/23 rehearsals are mandatory.
