Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Newsies Jr." Musical

Ages 10 and up are welcome to audition for "Newsies Jr." Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Students will read and sing from the script, and some may be asked to dance, as well. Tap dance and tumbling experience a plus, but not at all required. Wear movement clothes to auditions. You want to be confident and comfortable. Students may also perform a song and a monologue for extra credit. This is optional, but it always impresses the audition team. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 6-9 pm and every other Saturday from 4-6pm, beginning January 28, 2026, with additional rehearsals scheduled on GISD student holidays (Feb. 16 and Apr. 3). Tech/dress rehearsal will be held the first week of May, specific dates TBD. Performances will be on Friday, May 8, 2026 ,at 10 am, 12 pm, and 7 pm. Note that a fee will be applied.
