About the project: Set around the Civil War, the daughter of a wealthy Jewish merchant helps a young African American woman escape slavery, sparking events that change their lives. In a nation divided by race, religion, and politics, Eleanor and Hanna face war, loss, and betrayal in their quest for freedom. Rate: $500 stipend This is a non-equity workshop production. Additional info: In-Person Audition/Callback Date: February 28, 2026, from 10 am-6 pm. Performance Dates: April 29-30, 2026 This is a workshop production in front of an audience in The Center for Performing Arts. All rehearsals will be held on the Governors State University campus. Self-Tape: Auditioners will need to submit an audition self-tape that is no longer than 3 minutes in length and complete the DIVIDED audition form. Self tapes are to include the following: -16-32 bars of a standard musical song - Monologue Auditionees submitting self-tapes will be expected to attend callbacks.
