Kids and Teens Wanted for “Anastasia: The Musical”
Looking for child and teen talent for the "Anastasia" Musical. Additional details follow. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A revision of the hit animated 1997 film, Anastasia follows a young orphaned immigrant’s journey to uncover the mystery of her past. In the midst of Russia’s political upheaval and Soviet pursuers hot on her trail, Anya flees her country to find her “home” with help from a charming con-man and an ex-aristocrat on this journey to the past. Additional info: Callbacks: Saturday, Jan. 17th, 1:00 pm-5:00 pm The directors ask that everyone keep their selected cut for their vocal audition at approximately 16 bars to accommodate this increase in the number of available audition slots. Actors under the age of 18 are allowed to audition for Anastasia: The Musical with permission from a parent or guardian. If you are interested please apply.

Range: C4-C5, a sweet child soprano Dance Requirement: YES. A short folk dance with her father. Doubles in Ensemble. Child Anastasia is the willful, brave, proud, and precocious youngest daughter of the Tsar. She has a special bond with her grandmother (whom she calls Nana). Two Child Anastasias will be cast, and they will split the performances. The evenings an actor is not playing the Child Anastasia role, she will appear as various town children.
Alexei was the Tsarevich (Heir to the throne) and only boy of the Romanov siblings. Anya mentions that he was her best friend. Doubles in Ensemble in Act 2 as different townspeople.
Dance Requirement: YES. A featured dance role in the opening sequence. Possible can-can or ballet dancer in Act 2, doubles as Ensemble.
