Casting "A Shoebox Phoenix," a grounded, magical-realist short film that follows Malcolm, a quiet and imaginative 10-year-old boy navigating the ups and downs of his childhood while living between his mother’s and father’s homes. After witnessing a mysterious burst of light in a parking lot, Malcolm discovers an injured, glowing bird that he believes might be a Phoenix. As he cares for the creature, Malcolm begins confronting loneliness, responsibility, and the small magic he still believes exists in the world.
