Vietnamese (no language requirement). A scruffy and mischievous child, Mouse is largely naive to the political state and civil unrest in 1980s Vietnam after the war - her focus is to have fun. She looks up to her older friend Mia, whom she sees as grown and mature, and she treasures their friendship dearly. In her naivety and recklessness, however, she unknowingly makes a mistake that changes their lives forever.
Vietnamese (no language requirement). Mia is a precocious girl, bright and wily. While she is mostly unaware of the complexity of the state of Vietnam in the 1980s post-war, she has observed how her parents struggle to adapt. She loves to play with her best friend, Mouse, and often takes the lead by sharing with Mouse all of the things she enjoys. One day, everything suddenly changes, and she too must learn to adapt.
