"Antidote" - Student Film Seeks Talents
This is a USC School of Cinematic Arts student Advanced Production film under the SAG-AFTRA Student Film Agreement. Produced under the guidance of Hollywood producer John Watson. Rate is negotiable / deferred. We provide meals, credit, footage for reel, and we cover the required on-set teacher and legal protections for minors. Parent/guardian must attend the set. Production will follow all California minor performer labor rules. Storyline: Ten-year-old Jackie, hospitalized with a rare lung disease, believes he’s the reason his parents keep fighting. He tries to “get better” to fix their marriage, carrying guilt in silence. When Jason — a frail ex-addict estranged from his own daughter — is moved into his room, the two form an unexpected bond.

10 years old; East Asian; boy. A boy suffering from a rare lung disease - intelligent, sensitive, and deeply repressed. He misunderstands his parents’ constant arguments as being caused by his illness, and therefore tries desperately to “get better” to fix the family. Outwardly quiet and obedient, he carries immense guilt and loneliness inside. Through his encounters with Jason, he experiences genuine listening and understanding for the first time, and gradually learns to express himself.
