About the project: Miles to Grace follows a single winter week in 1972 Chicago. We meet Miles, a resourceful 12-year-old sleeping rough, and Grace, a mid-twenties woman whose outwardly tidy life hides control and violence at home. At a bustling street market, Grace shields Miles after he’s accused of stealing an apple, pays his debt, and wraps her own coat around him—an impulsive mercy that ignites the story. Rate: No pay.
