About the project: Synopsis: Get ready for a wildly funny, high-energy take on the classic romance of Lizzy and Darcy. Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice leans all the way into the original novel’s irreverence and laugh-out-loud humor—this is decidedly not the BBC. Think Bridgerton-meets-slapstick, with fast-paced dialogue, bold physicality, and a flexible, colorful world where anything can happen. At its heart, this is a story about love, vulnerability, and the shame we feel in revealing who we truly are—until we break free of it. We’re seeking a cast that’s ready to play, take risks, and bring unfiltered joy to this timeless tale. The script demands energy, speed, and a fearless embrace of the ridiculous. Let’s have some fun—and bring Austen’s wit, warmth, and wicked sense of humor to brilliant life.
