About the project: This is a musical based on the story of the Russian Royal Family, the Romanovs. The plot focuses on a young woman, Anya who has lost her memory and has been pulled into a ruse by 2 con men, Dmitry and Vlad, who are training her to believe she is actually the Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanov, who had been rumored to have escaped during the assassination of her family. Together they travel to Paris to present Anya to the Dowager Empress, in the hopes that Dmitry and Vlad will receive a reward for finding the long lost Anastasia. However, along the way Anya comes to believe she actually is Anastasia, and Dmitry and Anya fall in love which complicates the plans. Additional info: For standard auditions, please come prepared with 16-32 bars of music from the musical of your choice. Please bring sheet music for accompanist. Singing acapella is discouraged. Be prepared to stay afterward to participate in a short dance audition. Those wishing to audition as a featured dancer will stay for additional choreography. Cast members must be available Monday-Friday starting 11/3. Friday, 11/7 is first dress rehearsal. Multiple weekly recurring conflicts will impact casting. FOR SWAN LAKE CORP DE BALLET: MUST AUDITION ON 9/3 and register at 6:00 PM. Ballet number is for ages 7-27. For this show, dancers who wish to perform only in the Corp de Ballet, may opt out of the singing audition. Please bring ballet shoes and Pointe shoes if you have them. Rehearsal Dates: Monday-Thursdays, 6:30-9:00. a few Fridays and Saturday, 11/1 all day rehearsal. Performance Dates: 11/14, 11/15, 11/21, 11/22 at 7:30 PM. 11/16 & 11/23 at 3:00 PM.
