Kids ages 5-18 years old are needed for the "Madagascar Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends – Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo – have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape – with the help of some prodigious penguins – to explore the world. Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore, and an upbeat score, Madagascar will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!” Additional info: Preparation: All auditioners must prepare a one-minute section of a song. You may sing a cappella or bring your own track. Pop music, country music, or songs from the radio are NOT recommended for auditions. Auditions will consist of 3 parts: Singing, Acting/Reading, and Choreography (dance). Singing: Each child will sing the song they have prepared for the audition team Acting/Reading: Non-readers will repeat some sentences as assigned by the director. Readers will read through a few scenes from the script as assigned by the director. Choreography: You will be taught a simple dance combination and will perform it as a group for the audition team.
