"High School Musical" Needs Boys and Girls
Seeking talent ages 13 and up for "High School Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: School spirit hits a high note in this energetic, feel-good favorite that’s all about breaking free! When basketball star Troy and shy science whiz Gabriella defy expectations and audition for the spring musical, East High’s social order is thrown into total chaos. Cliques clash, secrets spill, and the “status quo” gets a serious remix. With catchy pop hits, big dance numbers, and a message of friendship and self-expression, Disney’s High School Musical is a sing-along sensation that proves we’re all in this together! Rate: Local teens (Ages 13-18) will receive a one-time stipend of $375. Additional info: Casting AEA & non-union actors. Please prepare the song cut and side from the attachment for the role of your choice. If you are interested in more than one track, please only prepare one, as time is limited! Rehearsal Begins: January 6, 2026. Previews: January 29-30, 2026. Opening: January 31, 2026. Closing: February 22, 2026 (with a possible extension through March 1, 2026). Rehearsals are from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at various times on weekends. You may rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on the size of the role. If interested, please email video submissions by no later than 5 pm on Friday, September 12. Videos should either be submitted via Google Drive, Dropbox, or a YouTube link. Please make sure the link is viewable by anyone for easy sharing amongst the team. Please include your headshot, resume, audition form, and conflict calendar in the email, along with the show-specific material directors are requesting. Reels are not considered a submission. Virtual callbacks will be scheduled for Monday, September 22, between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm EST. If directors need to schedule you for a callback appointment, you will receive an email by Wednesday, September 17, at 8 pm.
