Auditioning for "Seussical JR.". Casting boys and girls. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Signs of a good audition Sing/speak with expression Sing/speak with good volume Look out to the audience when you sing Use gestures with your body, hands, arms, head, eyes, etc. Make bold choices for your character in the scenes Engage with your scene partner(s). Listen and react to what they’re saying! A great attitude is what will make your audition GREAT!!! All actors registered for our production are automatically in the show! CLOTHING: Please wear comfortable clothing for movement and bring water. SINGING: Please prepare 8 - 16 bars (20 - 45 sec) of any song you like, something that you feel confident singing! This can be a song from the show, but doesn't have to be! You can also sing a song from another show you've done, something from the radio, something from school or church, or even just sing "Happy Birthday!" Memorization is NOT required. Practice singing to improve your range, performance and ability to “sell” a song. Projection and enunciation are incredibly important in musical theater!!! Go all out, be big and have fun with the song! ACTING: The audition involves “cold-reading” from a script. They do NOT need to be memorized. Be animated and confident when you are asked to read and make big, bold character choices! There are no bad choices and we’d rather see you MAKE choices, then just read with no choices at all.
