Seeking young talent for upcoming singing audition “Cats.” Details are provided below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: CATS is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with purr-fect felines. The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year—the night of the Jellicle Ball where they gather to celebrate their unique qualities and vie for the chance to be reborn into a new life in the Heaviside Layer. The cats introduce themselves, showcasing their individual talents and stories, hoping to impress Old Deuteronomy, their wise leader, who will make the final selection. Many cats introduce themselves through song until the villainous Macavity attempts to disrupt the festivities and kidnap Old Deuteronomy, but is ultimately thwarted. Ultimately, Grizabella, despite her initial rejection due to her past, earns the others' sympathy and is chosen for ascension. Additional info: Callbacks are in person on Thursday, Aug. 28, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Students who need to attend callbacks will be called for just a portion of that time. Rehearsals are three times a week: Tuesdays (3:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m)., as well as Wednesday and Thursday evenings (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.). Performances are Friday, Oct. 24, 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 26, 2:00 p.m. Please see the attachment for details. If you are interested please apply.
