This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out-of-this-world origins and intent towards global domination! Seymour is an unlikely hero—intelligent but insecure—and his desire for love and recognition leads him to make a terrible deal with a carnivorous plant Performance Notes: Requires excellent comedic timing and emotional vulnerability. Some physical comedy and interaction with puppetry required.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt (G#3–D5) Character Summary: Sweet, kind-hearted, and insecure, Audrey is Seymour’s co-worker and long-time crush. Stuck in an abusive relationship, she dreams of a better life. Performance Notes: Requires a strong belt voice, comic instincts, and emotional depth to show both her bubbly personality and vulnerability.
Vocal Range: Bari-tenor (G2–G4) Character Summary: Audrey’s sadistic dentist boyfriend. A hilariously over-the-top villain with a love for causing pain. This actor will also play multiple exaggerated ensemble characters in Act II. Performance Notes: Requires strong physical comedy, big character work, and strong vocals for “Dentist!” Think cartoonish villain with Elvis swagger.
