About the project: This is the Royal Shakespeare Company’s stage adaptation of the beloved 1939 MGM film — a faithful version that brings the magic of the movie to life on stage. You’ll hear the unforgettable score by Harold Arlen (music) and E.Y. Harburg (lyrics), experience the classic story as adapted by John Kane for the RSC, and enjoy additional background music by Herbert Stothart — all woven together to recreate the charm, humor, and heart of the timeless film. Additional info: Rehearsal Schedule Start Date: Monday, September 8, 2025 General Schedule: Monday – Friday evenings. Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal. Rehearsals in Eureka: September 8 – October 30, 2025 Rehearsals in Ferndale: November 3 – November 20, 2025 Young Performer Ensemble (ages 8–17): Typical call time: 6:00 – 7:30 PM. Once we move to Ferndale young performers may be called later—up to 9:30 PM—for select rehearsals.
