"Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr." Musical Seeks Kids
"Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr." Musical. Students in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 (2025/2026 school year) are encouraged to audition for parts in the musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on the popular, award-winning 1970s cartoons Schoolhouse Rock. A young schoolteacher, who is nervous about the first day of teaching tries to relax by watching TV, when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. The show is full of memorable songs like "Just a Bill," “Three is a Magic Number,” “Unpack Your Adjectives,” "Conjunction Junction," and many more. Additional info: Each student will need to attend one small group pre-audition. The pre-auditions will be held the three evenings, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, August 19, 20, or 21 from 5:00-6;15 PM. Please sign up for one of these timeslots in your audition application. At the pre-audition sessions students will recite short sections of lines that they are to memorize, work on some simple choreography, and sing sections of songs from the musical (these will be emailed to you after we receive your audition application). Beginning August 25, 2025, rehearsals will be held every Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 4:30-6:15 and every Friday from 2:00-5:00. Makeup: All cast members will be required to wear basic stage makeup for the shows.
