"The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" Play Needs Teens
Performers in grades 7 and up are welcome to audition for "The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When the crew of the Kayla May flees at the mere sight of pirates, the fussy Captain Jennings is left to defend his ship with a mismatched band of prisoners and a sailor who can't swim. Onboard are the high-society Prescott family, including the haughty Madam Prescott, the overbearing Professor Bidwell, and the spirited Julia Prescott, who dreams of becoming a pirate herself. Things take a wild turn when the infamous Captain Bree and her fierce, all-female crew storm the ship in search of treasure, only to find royal passengers instead. Additional info: SINGING: Audition song selections should be no longer than 2 minutes - actors should bring sheet music OR an accompaniment track (with no other voices) cued to where they wish to start the song. Directors will have a Bluetooth speaker available. A cappella auditions are strongly discouraged. Songs do not need to be from the show, but rather should be something the actor knows well enough that they can show personality while singing. DANCING: All actors should wear clothes they can comfortably move in, and bring dance shoes if they have them. READING: Directors will have sides prepared for reading at the audition. FORMS: Please fill out the Online Administrative Form attached ahead of auditions. You're also welcome to print and fill out the Audition Form ahead of time, though directors will have copies available at the audition too. Directors will also be having a virtual informational session on Wednesday, 8/6, to answer any further questions! For more information, please download the attachment. If interested, please apply.
