"The Lion King Jr." Show Seeks Kids and Teens
Audition for "The Lion King Jr." Show. Students in 1st – 12th grade. Please see the details below. About the project: Disney’s The Lion King JR. brings the African savanna to life with Simba, Rafiki, and a host of unforgettable characters in a coming-of-age tale. This junior version of the beloved musical includes iconic songs such as “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Young performers will also gain skills in mask-making and puppetry while telling this story of creativity and pride. Additional info: What to Prepare: Song: Prepare 32–64 bars (or 1–2 minutes) of a musical theatre song (NO pop songs). Accompaniment: Bring sheet music or a karaoke track (Bluetooth speaker available). Note: No a cappella auditions. Be prepared to learn a short dance. Performance Dates: October 3–5 Cast meeting and rehearsals begin in August (exact date TBA). Speaking Roles: Middle & High School Students: May be asked to read from the script.
