Young Performers for "Green Day’s American Idiot" Show

Theatre is seeking AEA and Non-Union performers for "Green Day’s American Idiot". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See more info below. About the project: “Welcome to a new kind of tension All across the alien nation Where everything isn’t meant to be okay” Green Day’s powerhouse protest album is brought to life in this two-time Tony Award-winning hit musical of youthful disillusion. Slinging razor guitars and thundering drums belt out the saga of anti-hero Johnny and his friends as they attempt to flee the constraints of their hometown and find purpose in their lives, clouded by uncertainty, angst, and temptation. More relevant than ever, American Idiot puts the raw emotions of a generation front and center in a highly theatrical and thoroughly satisfying rock opera that burns up the stage. Additional info: Directors will be holding in-person auditions and accepting video submissions: see the document attached. IN PERSON AUDITIONS: Prepare a 32-64 bar cut of a rock musical theatre song of your choice, and prepare for a group movement audition led by choreographer. Please arrive with movement clothes to change into. An accompanist will be provided at in-person auditions. Callbacks: Wednesday, July 30th (as needed). Rehearsals: April 28 - May 28, 2026.
