Woodland, CA, United States
ID: 586012Exp: 6/15/2025
Description:

Auditions open for boys and girls for "Into the Woods" stage production. See the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Into the Woods, the beloved musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine, masterfully weaves together familiar tales—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—with the original story of a childless Baker and his Wife, crafting a hauntingly resonant fairytale for the modern age. As each character chases a personal wish, they soon discover that every desire comes at a cost, forcing them to confront the complexities of longing, loss, and unintended consequences. This intricate fable delves into themes of collective responsibility and the moral tension between self-interest and community care, illuminating the ripple effects of individual choices on both human lives and the natural world. In this dark and atmospheric new production, these ideas will be further deepened through the inclusion of a spectral ensemble of forest spirits, transforming the woods into a sentient, ever-watchful presence. JACKBoth genders15-18 y.o.All ethnicities

(Tenor B2 – G4) A naïve but big-hearted young man who seeks adventure. Energetic, bright-eyed, and a bit simple, he often acts without thinking. Loves his cow more than anything in the world. Starts out young and innocent, but is forced to grow up rapidly over the course of the show. Vocally, looking for a clear high tenor with youthful energy and bounce.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOODFemale15-18 y.o.All ethnicities

Her path through the woods parallels a loss of innocence and deepening awareness. Comedic timing essential. Vocally requires a strong belt, with a mix of innocence and sass. Looking for precise diction, great breath control, and a clear, bright belt/mix.
