Performers ages 15 and up are welcome to audition for the "Romeo & Juliet" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare is the classic, yet tragic tale of two young lovers from feuding families. In 1880 deep in the Appalachian Mountains, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall deeply in love and secretly marry. Facilitated by a man of god, the lovers experience a fate marked with wild passion and devastating loss. The world of both families are rocked by the long grudge held by generations new and old. In the end, the couple’s love brings the family together only after their tragic end. Additional info: Based on your desired characters, actors will read from the sides of the script with other actors to show their skill/talent/energy. When actors are finished reading, all potential performers will sing. (Optional) Any actors who play a musical instrument and who brought them may play a song. As needed Audition/Callback date will be May 28th @ 6:30 pm Tech Week for the production starts Sunday, July 27th, and goes through July 30th. Production Dates are Thursday through Sunday - July 31st @ 6:00 pm, August 1st-2nd @ 6:00 pm, and August 3rd @ 2 pm. If interested, please apply.

Romeo is the only child of Lord and Lady Montague. When we first meet him, he believes he is in love with Rosaline, but then he meets Juliet at a party. They instantly fall in love and are married in secret the next day.

JulietFemale15-18 y.o.All ethnicities

The daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet. She has yet to be introduced to society and intends to obey her parents’ wishes. Juliet begins the play as a naIve child who has thought little about love and marriage, but she grows up quickly upon falling in love with Romeo, the son of her family's great enemy.

A Capulet, Juliet's cousin on her mother's side. Vain, fashionable, supremely aware of courtesy and the lack of it, he becomes aggressive, violent, and quick to draw his sword when he feels his pride has been injured. Once drawn, his sword is something to be feared. He loathes Montagues.
